Also sprach McIntyre: Updated demo versions from the forthcoming Harmstation CD have been added to the Noise section on the left, including two new tracks for you to download, Heft and of the monster: and, to say truth, we no longer lived on board which, it seems, if you read the title out loud when the track begins, the track will be over before you're done reading the title...

For those wondering where these bizarre track titles are coming from, they (and the entire new CD) are based on Spam Emails we have have receiving here at SLM HQ. Each title comes from the subject line of a spam email, designed with randomly generated words to worm their way through our spam filters. Believe us, only the finest spam makes it through, and entertaining reading it makes, too. So RND_WORD, a computer command for generating these random lines, embodies the grating annoyance of spam, blended with the strange poetry that randomly generated words and sentences can make. It's something we call Machine Poetry, and here's an example:

Not exactly Wordsworth, but we believe that we, as human beings, are not the intended audience. So you will find not only that we have been inspired by spam and Machine Poetry, but that Machine Poetry will figure more highly in the finalized version of RND_WORD. Possibly as the 'lyrics' of this album somehow. We'll have to wait and see. - RM.

Work continues on the new release, and on building a new studio to get those tunes in top-tip form and out to the fans as soon as possible. Currently, seventeen tracks have been written for RND_WORD, and with only three pieces of the puzzle left to go, Ridley and Joe are getting very excited, hoping for a January or February 2005 release. In the meantime, so you can hear where it's going, demo versions of all seventeen of those works-in-progress are now available in the AUDIO section of the site above.

For those wondering what the more than reclusive Joe Black looks like, he has finally agreed to appear in cartoon form to the left. Ridley is an attention-whore, and pictures of him can be found all over his eponymous website. But, just in case, here's a cartoon of him, too. Maybe the cartoon is rather flattering in the hair department.

In other news, Suburban Legend Music is still looking for a distribution vehicle, after the demise of MP3.com. MP3.com still exists, in a commercial music format, but the POD CD's no longer exist. Currently we are looking into using Cafepress, who make our groovy t-shirts which can be found via the Merchandise link at the left of this page.
